1. Who we are

Stoic ("the Service") is operated by Baldeo and Co ("we", "us"). You can reach us at support@thatstoic.com.

2. Acceptance

By creating an account or continuing to use the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Stoic. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live, and if you use Stoic for an organisation you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.

3. The Service

Stoic offers daily check-ins, journaling, control maps, discipline tracking, insights, and an AI Stoic Coach. Features and usage limits depend on your plan, as described on our pricing page. Stoic is a mental fitness and self-reflection tool. It is not therapy, medical advice, or crisis support. If you are in danger or crisis, contact your local emergency services or a qualified professional.

4. Your account

Keep your sign-in details confidential and provide accurate information. You are responsible for activity under your account.

5. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the Service. In particular, you must not:

• use Stoic for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful, or to send spam;
• infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy;
• upload malware, probe or attack our systems, scrape the Service, or bypass usage limits or security;
• reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the Service;
• use the AI Coach to create illegal content, hate speech, harassment, deceptive impersonation, or to attempt to jailbreak or manipulate the AI's safeguards.

6. AI Coach responses

You are responsible for what you enter and how you use the responses. AI responses can be inaccurate or incomplete and are offered for reflection only. They are not professional, medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice. We may filter, refuse, or remove content and restrict accounts to keep the Service safe. You keep ownership of what you write. You give us a limited licence to store and process it only to provide the Service to you. If you believe content infringes your rights, email us and we will review and remove it where appropriate. Repeated infringement may lead to suspension.

7. Intellectual property

Baldeo and Co owns the Service and its software, design, documentation, and branding. We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Stoic within your plan.

8. Payments, subscriptions and refunds

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Payment, billing, tax, renewals, and cancellations are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. If you cancel, you keep paid access until the end of the current billing period. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

9. Service availability

We work to keep Stoic reliable, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" without implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms, fail to pay, create a security or fraud risk, or repeatedly or seriously break our policies. You can stop using Stoic and delete your data at any time from Settings. When access ends, you can request an export of your data within 30 days. After that, we may delete it.

11. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot be limited by law.

12. General

We are not responsible for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control. You may not transfer these terms without our consent. We may transfer them as part of a merger or acquisition. These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, and disputes will be handled by its courts. We may update these terms and will tell you about material changes.
